Impact of New Canadian Export Regulations [French] Issue 473, May 19, 2005 New export regulations became effective May 16, 2005 in Canada. Canada Border Services Agency will implement changes as a result of these new regulations. The exporter is ultimately responsible to insure that exports are reported by submitting all export declarations, permits and documents required by other government departments to the CBSA as outlined in the Exported Goods Regulations (D Memorandum D20-1-0). This requires that proof is submitted to Canada Customs either electronically or manually, that the goods are ready, eligible and declared for export. DHL Danzas Air & Ocean in Canada has signed a memorandum of understanding with the CBSA agreeing to insure that any export we are involved with is properly reported to Customs within the time frames allotted. We undertake to implement a verification process to ensure the required documentation is submitted and reported within the allotted time frames outlined in the new regulations. Effective June 1, 2005, we will implement a fee of CAD $10.00 or USD $7.50 for this validation service. The service fees for preparation of the B13 remain unchanged. Sincerely,
Brian Lindholm Please note that due to the complex nature of the subject matter, DHL Danzas Air & Ocean cannot be responsible for actions taken by the reader in reliance on the information contained herein without prior consultation with DHL Danzas Air & Ocean.
