Air Freight Fuel Surcharge Increase Notification Effective April 4th, 2005 Issue 469, March 22, 2005 Once again, the price of crude oil and its related derivatives are putting pressure on the cost of jet fuel, heating oil and gasoline worldwide. Our airline partners are now sending us notifications of an increase to the Fuel Surcharge which will take effect April 4th, 2005. For the USA the Fuel Surcharge will apply to all international and domestic shipments. The Fuel Surcharge on international air freight shipments from the USA will increase from USD 0.35 to USD 0.40/kg, with a USD 5.00 Minimum. On import shipments the charge will be the local currency equivalent and subject to specific governmental regulations. For our Domestic Air Services, Next Flight Out, Next Day, Second Day, and Three Day Services, the Fuel Surcharge is increasing from USD 0.16/lb to USD 0.18/lb, with the Minimum remaining at USD 6.00. For Domestic Surface shipments the surcharge will remain USD 0.05/lb, with the Minimum remaining at USD 5.00. For Canadian International shipments and Transborder exports the Fuel Surcharge will remain CAD 5.00 Minimum and increase from CAD 0.46 to 0.50/kg (equivalent to USD 4.00 for Minimum or USD 0.38 to 0.40/kg). Domestic air freight shipments within Canada will maintain the CAD 5.00 Minimum and increase from 0.35 to 0.40/kg (equivalent to USD 4.00 Minimum or USD 0.28 to 0.32/kg).
