Air Freight Fuel Surcharge Increase Notification Effective March 21, 2005 [French]

Issue 467, March 8, 2005

The recent price increase of Crude Oil and its related derivatives has caused the Fuel Price index to move beyond its existing threshold. We have begun receiving notification letters from our Airline Partners announcing an increase in the Fuel Surcharges being applied. DHL Danzas Air & Ocean is not in a position to absorb these increases to the Fuel Surcharge, therefore, please be advised that as of March 21, 2005 the below increases will be effective.

For the USA the Fuel Surcharge will apply to all international and domestic shipments. The Fuel Surcharge on international air freight shipments from the USA will increase from USD 0.30/kg to USD 0.35/kg, with a USD 5.00 Minimum. On import shipments the charge will be the local currency equivalent and subject to specific governmental regulations.

For our Domestic Air Services, Next Day, Second Day, and Three Day Services, the Fuel Surcharge is increasing from USD 0.13/lb to USD 0.16/lb, with the Minimum increasing from USD 5.00 to USD 6.00. For Domestic Surface shipments the surcharge will increase from USD 0.045/lb to 0.05/lb, with the Minimum remaining at USD 5.00.

For Canadian International shipments and Transborder exports the Fuel Surcharge will remain CAD 5.00 Minimum and increase from CAD 0.40/kg to 0.46/kg (USD equivalent $4.00 for Minimum or 0.32/kg USD/kg to 0.38/kg). Domestic air freight shipments within Canada will maintain the CAD 5.00 Minimum and increase from 0.30/kg to 0.35/kg (USD equivalent $4.00 Minimum or 0.24 USD to 0.28/kg).

If you require any additional information or clarification, please contact your local DHL Danzas Air & Ocean representative for further details. Your continued support and understanding concerning this situation is very much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Brian Lindholm
