Air Freight Navigation Surcharges: Canada [French] Issue 459, January 5, 2005 Based on increases assessed earlier this year from NAV Canada, the Federal agency responsible for air traffic control in Canada, airlines operating to/from this country are revising their existing navigational surcharges. Effective January 15th, 2005, the airlines will increase their air navigational surcharges. This new revision will be common rated to standardize all markets where NAV is applicable. The increase will affect only those air freight shipments carried TO or FROM Canada. For domestic Canada and transborder shipments between Canada and the United States, the existing 5% surcharge based on weight charge with $3.00 CAD minimum, will be changed to $0.07 per kilo based on chargeable weight with a minimum $5.00 CAD. For international shipments (both import and export) the surcharges will also be adjusted from $0.06 CAD to $.07 CAD per kilo based of chargeable weight. The minimum $5.00 CAD charge remains unchanged. The USD equivalent for the above will be minimum $4.00 USD or $.06 USD per kilo (or $.03 USD per lb). As DHL Danzas Air & Ocean cannot absorb these federally-mandated surcharges, we will be including these increases on all shipments to/from Canada effective January 15, 2005. We appreciate your understanding and continued support in this matter. Sincerely,
Donna Letterio Please note that due to the complex nature of the subject matter, DHL Danzas Air & Ocean cannot be responsible for actions taken by the reader in reliance on the information contained herein without prior consultation with DHL Danzas Air & Ocean.
