The continued rise in worldwide aviation fuel prices, driven primarily by the tensions in the Middle East, as well as recent production constraints by OPEC Countries, has caused the Fuel Price index to move beyond its existing threshold. DHL Danzas Air & Ocean is now receiving notification letters from our Airline Partners announcing they will increase their Fuel Surcharges. These increases are expected to be applied as early as May 10, 2004.

DHL Danzas Air & Ocean is not in a position to absorb these increases to the Fuel Surcharge. Therefore, please be advised that effective May 10, 2004 the surcharge on all Import and Export Air Freight Shipments will be increased by $ 0.05/kg to $ 0.20 /kg USD ($ 0.26/kg CAD). Additionally, effective May 10, 2004 the Domestic Air Freight fuel surcharge will be $5.00 Min or .085/lb. Domestic Surface Shipments will be accessed at Min. $3.00 or .03/lb.
