Delay in Implementation of Air Automated Manifest System Requirements in US
Issue 432, March 5, 2004
The new regulations require transporters to electronically submit detailed shipment information to the CBP 4 hours before the aircraft arrives in the US. For air shipments from Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, Central America, South America (north of the equator) information must be received by CBP no later than 'wheels up' for shorter flights. Consequently, this will require DHL to ensure that all shipping information is provided by customers on time. For further information, please refer to an FAQ document on the CBP web site. Should you have further questions, please contact your local DHL office. Please note that due to the complex nature of the subject matter, DHL Danzas Air & Ocean cannot be responsible for actions taken by the reader in reliance on the information contained herein without prior consultation with DHL Danzas Air & Ocean.
