We are pleased to report that South Korea's two major seaports, Busan and Gwangyang, have returned to normal operations even though a strike by 30,000 of the country's truck drivers entered its eighth day on August 28.

At last report, cargo flows at the Port of Busan have returned to 80% of normal levels, while cargo backlogs are at pre-strike levels. The Port of Gwangyang is operating at 97% of normal levels, and its backlogs are also at pre-strike levels.

Government officials were quoted as saying that about 40% of striking container drivers have returned to work as of August 28.
