An Increase in the TRA

Issue 374, October 18, 2002
The transpacific airfreight market continues to be extremely volatile, as North American importers are beginning to face the reality of severely delayed ocean freight shipments, and non-existent airfreight space. The situation continues to deteriorate in several specific countries.

As a result, with an effective date of October 18, 2002, we are increasing our temporary rate adjustments (TRA) in the following three (3) countries;

Korea 40% TRA
Japan 40%
Taiwan 25%
These temporary rate adjustments (TRA), as well as all other TRA noted in our letter of October 11, 2002, are added to current contract rates on file with Danzas AEI Intercontinental. The rates plus TRA are valid based on allocations as established by your country-specific eastbound transpacific airfreight production, measured over the period Jul-Sept 2002. Any requirements over the allocations, for which we cannot accommodate on our regularly scheduled service, are subject to current market rates.

We are doing our very best to move as much of your cargo as possible. Please check with your local Danzas AEI representative for current pricing.

Please note that due to the complex nature of the subject matter, DHL Danzas Air & Ocean cannot be responsible for actions taken by the reader in reliance on the information contained herein without prior consultation with DHL Danzas Air & Ocean.
