Domestic Freight Security Surcharges
Issue 327, October 15, 2001 Most commercial airlines, and an increasing number of integrated cargo airlines, have announced the implementation of a security surcharge. This surcharge is a direct result of the costs associated with increased personnel, process improvements and additional equipment required to meet new FAA security regulations. Due to the new FAA regulations, security-related expenses for expedited services are increasing due to the following factors:
Due to the significant increase in security-related costs, Danzas AEI Intercontinental will implement a Domestic Security Surcharge on the chargeable weight for certain expedited domestic shipments, effective October 15, 2001. This surcharge is posted here and will be regularly updated to assist you in easily determining and administering the exact charges. We have chosen an application method that will reduce the surcharge as the level of requested service declines. The surcharge will not apply on our RoadMaster® deferred service shipments. Danzas AEI Intercontinental is committed to providing you with the best service at a cost effective price. We are continuing active communications with our airline partners on your behalf, and will keep you regularly updated through direct correspondence and website postings. With Sincere Regards,
Wayne Tompkins
