We would also like to report that, as of September 13, all Danzas North American employees are safe and accounted for. We send our thoughts and prayers to those struck by the tragedy, which sadly includes members of our extended families, friends, colleagues, customers and service partners.

Please find below the latest update as of 2:00 p.m. EDT: Flights are resuming on a case-by-case basis. Each individual airline and airport must meet stringent security requirements.

• Three New York area airports, JFK, LGA and EWR, as well as Boston Logan and Washington Reagan national are closed until further notice.
• Northwest airlines has canceled freighter service scheduled for September 15.
• All cargo moving in the lower holds of passenger aircraft is embargoed until further notice.
• U.S. and foreign-flag carriers that had U.S.-bound flights diverted on Tuesday will be able to continue to originally scheduled destination.
• Foreign-flag cargo operators will be able to depart the U.S. but will be unable to return at this time.
• U.S. scheduled and charter cargo flights can depart the U.S. and return to the U.S. providing they are operated by U.S.-flag carriers with a U.S.-registered flight number.
• We can confirm that Danzas AEI intercontinental will be able to charter freighter aircraft to and from North America. Additional details will be provided in upcoming communications.

In addition, we expect cargo operations to resume in Canada over the weekend. Danzas AEI is working closely with our airline partners to access this capacity to/from North America.

• Our airline partners have notified us that due to sudden and severe capacity constraints and the elevated costs of compliance with heightened security directives, rates in the short term are likely to increase and extraordinary surcharges may be imposed. We will immediately convey any additional information once we receive it from the airlines, and we will do our best to work with you to mitigate the impact of these unexpected pricing actions.
• Air cargo is now restricted to "all-cargo" aircraft only and not allowed on any passenger aircraft. The capacity of available all-cargo or freighter aircraft is not sufficient to satisfy the demand for international air cargo. Estimated arrival dates, based on foreseen airline schedule reductions, as well as the anticipated backlog of international air freight due to tightened security measures, may prove to be inaccurate. Danzas AEI Intercontinental is fully capable to move your shipment through our existing ocean freight network.

Ocean freight: Our ocean freight services are running smoothly at all ports-of-entry, including the port of New York and New Jersey. Europe-bound containers at New York that did not load as of midweek will move this weekend. All other operates are at normal levels of operation.

Domestic Transportation: Our domestic air and surface networks are running smoothly. We are experiencing heavy but manageable volumes on certain lanes. Additionally, we are achieving full operational and schedule integrity throughout our domestic network.

Customs Clearance Status: Customs remains at Level One Alert until further notice. Although this mandates the highest level of inspection activities, all border facilities and ports of entry will remain open and Customs will continue to process normal flows of trade.

• The backlog of entries is being reduced. The northern border points into the U.S. are reporting at this time 12- to 18-hour crossing times at certain points on the U.S.-Canadian border.
• U.S. Customs has restricted access to its facilities. This creates challenges in the physical delivery of documentation. Customs is accepting faxes as alternate means of communication.
• The volume of transactions subject to intensive exams by U.S. Customs has increased by 25%.
