How can I request information about my company? Mr. Rick Van Arnam's comments regarding the Freedom of Information Act - 2/16/01 "Freedom of Information Act requests are made to the US Customs Service, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W. Washington D.C. 20029. Mark the envelope "Freedom of Information Act Request." You must be very specific as to what you want and how you request it, so you should consult 19 CFR § 103.1- 103.34. After receiving the request, Customs will send you a bill for its charges. Typically this is a couple hundred dollars. Typically, Customs will send you the information lumped together on a CD. You will need to extrapolate and reorganize the data contained on the disk to render it into a meaningful finished series of reports. If I can be of any help, please don't hesitate to contact me directly. Historically, Barnes, Richardson & Colburn has provided this service to our clients for a small fee, whereby we would make the request, extrapolate and reorganize the information, and provide the importer with a finished bound document indexed by the various reports generated. Feel free to contact me at 212-725-0200 or rvanarnam@brc-ny.com".
