TSA Security Mandate

Issue 011, March 16, 2007

The TSA has issued directives to the carriers that put certain conditions on how freight is packaged when presented to those carriers for some flights. If you wish to review this in greater detail, please contact your DHL Global Forwarding representative.

Effective immediately any freight tendered to us that fits the above description, must be banded on all 4 sides with metal or unbreakable plastic bands. If the freight is not received ready for carriage as described, we will not refuse your cargo, but we will be restricted in how we can move your shipment.

If your cargo must be handled in a manner whereby banding is required, then if we have not received it from you already banded, we will do so, but this could create delays or additional charges.

Special Note: this new TSA requirement is not only for shipments that are presented to the carriers here in the U.S. This will also apply to freight presented to the carriers for flights into the U.S.

Sincerely,

Brian Lindholm
Executive Vice President Operations - North America
