![]() Press Releases | Peak Season Surcharges - Adjustment: Asia Pacific (Global) Issue 003, January 19, 2007 Dear Valued Customer, Demand in Peak Season 2006 for Asia Pacific airfreight exports have stabilized from most Asian countries. DHL Global Forwarding has already removed the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) from the majority of stations as per our original schedule (Jan. 01st 2007). However, demand remains high in a few exceptional case, specifically, the mature markets of Hong Kong and Taiwan. Due to a late Chinese New Year (February 18th 2007) factory production will peak just before the holiday's, resulting in continued high demand and consequential high airline rates. However, effective January 22nd 2007. DHL Global Forwarding will make certain reductions to accurately reflect the market conditions expected for this period. Highlighted in yellow indicate the revisions out of Hong Kong and Taiwan:
We at DHL Global Forwarding will continue to monitor the market situation closely, and keep you updated with regards to any changes which affect you. As always our goal is to provide a transparent and clear appraisal of the market situation on these critical routes. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your DHL Global Forwarding account manager. Sincerely,
|
