Danzas Placed in Top 25 in InformationWeek 500 Survey

IT Innovation Amidst Challenging Business Conditions Earn Company Jump from 89th to 25th Place in Prestigious Survey

Newark, NJ (October 16, 2002) -- Danzas AEI Intercontinental, one of the Business Units of the Danzas Group, said today it was ranked in the top 25 of the nation's largest and most innovative users of information technology by the prestigious InformationWeek 500. Danzas AEI Intercontinental was ranked number 25 by the survey, a sizable jump from its 89th place ranking in 2001.

"Danzas is among the elite corporate users of information technology this year thanks largely to its ongoing commitment to build new applications that bring them closer to satisfying the business needs of customers, suppliers and partners," said Rusty Weston, Editor, InformationWeek Research.

"I am proud to see us recognized for our continued dedication to the development of robust, innovative and customer focused IT solutions," said Hans Toggweiler, Head of Danzas North America. "Through our collaborative and integrated solutions, we are able to identify and address the unique needs of our customers, while at the same time strengthening our own internal systems and processes."

"Danzas takes an aggressive approach in leveraging information technology solutions to create a competitive advantage for our customers and ourselves. We view our information service component of our product as part of our overall core competency. While it is important to meet our customers' needs and deadlines for physically moving their goods, it is equally critical that a high quality information flow is maintained throughout the process," Toggweiler said.

The most significant accomplishment during the year was the creation of "MarketLink", the expansion of "Webport" and the integration of these two key e-commerce application solutions that extend the benefits of collaborative endeavors across the e-marketplace.

"MarketLink" supports customers' and business partners' automated systems with seamless logistics services, and is driven by the real-time flow of data between Danzas AEI Intercontinental and its customers. MarketLink leverages Danzas AEI Intercontinental's back office systems and supply chain management solutions.

The second application, "Webport," allows Danzas AEI Intercontinental's customers to produce supply chain management documentation on-demand wherever it is needed. By leveraging the MarketLink application, Webport produces critical documents containing information seamlessly exported from Danzas AEI Intercontinental's back-office systems. Webport's documents are enriched with the most in-depth and timely supply-chain management data available. These applications enable customers to further exploit the strengths of our global systems and processes.

For 14 years, the InformationWeek 500 has tracked organizations' IT agendas, providing a unique opportunity to understand and examine their business practices across core areas of operations. Companies named to this list demonstrate a pattern of technological, procedural and organization innovation.

"Seventy-three percent of InformationWeek 500 companies in 2002 ranked on last year's list," said Weston. "This has provided invaluable insight on how the economy has shaped technology investment over the past 12 months and which IT and business strategies are being leveling in an effort to maintain and advance market position."

Although IT spending is off, the nation's top technology innovators are finding creative ways to drive their technology initiatives forward, working to improve the technologies they have, delving deeper into company data stores to parse business results, and squeezing more use from electronic channels to strengthen customer and business partner collaboration.
