Danzas launches six-nation trucking network in South America; Warehousing, brokerage integrated to create one-stop logistics solution
Miami, FL (December 19, 2001) -- Danzas launches six-nation trucking network in South America; Warehousing, brokerage integrated to create one-stop logistics solution
Danzas today announced the formation of a South American trucking network offering customers time-definite, door-to-door deliveries in six countries: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia.
The trucking network, which is co-ordinated by Danzas Brazil, is being integrated into Danzas warehousing and brokerage services to create a seamless, one-stop solution to the logistics needs of businesses trading in South America. Danzas Logistica, Danzas' award-winning Brazilian logistics arm, will play a major role in developing and executing innovative supply chain services to complement the trucking operation.
Brazil will serve as the hub of the weekly trucking frequencies, with major cities in each of the other five countries serving as spokes. Although the trucking service will originate and terminate in Brazil, intermediate stops are scheduled to ensure that businesses in each country have access to the network. Danzas has 14 offices in Brazil with hub operations in nine cities.
"Our mission is two-fold: To provide our customers with fast, reliable and economical transit times for their goods, and to be the sole point of contact in helping optimize supply chains throughout the region," said Juerg Rohrer, country manager, Danzas Brazil. "Through the combined strengths of our resources, infrastructure and people, we are capable of handling a business' logistics needs from start to finish."
As an example, Rohrer cited Danzas' strong relationships with each country's customs authorities that will facilitate rapid processing and clearance of goods at Danzas' carefully selected network of private bonded warehouses.
"The timely and efficient clearance of goods has always been a challenge in South America, yet that is exactly what is needed for South America to reach its full potential as a regional trading bloc," he said.
Rohrer said the new service was patterned after Danzas' highly successful "Eurocargo" pan-European overland transport network. "Eurocargo was our model for an innovative intra-continental groupage and logistics solution," he said. "We hope to revolutionize logistics services in South America in much the same way Eurocargo re-shaped the European logistics landscape."
The new service is part of what is expected to be a broad product expansion across South America in the coming year, according to Samuel Israel, CEO of the Latin American (AMLA) Region.
