Danzas North America announces key executive changes, appointments

Darien, CT (December 3, 2001) -- Danzas North America today announced a series of key executive changes and appointments, effective December 1. They are as follows:

Gary Schultheis has been named vice president, air freight. Schultheis is responsible for all North American air freight operations and will work closely with Danzas North America's sales and marketing teams to develop new air freight business and ensure product quality. A 23-year logistics veteran with high-level sales and operations experience, Schultheis spent 15 years with the former Air Express International (AEI), and was working at the former Danzas Intercontinental when it was integrated with AEI to form the current Danzas North America.
Al Pettenato has been named vice president, domestic services, USA. A 15-year logistics veteran, Pettenato manages all of Danzas North America's U.S. domestic business. He replaces Wayne Tompkins, who has left the company to pursue other interests.
Robert Kmiotek, a 20-year veteran of the airline and forwarding industries, assumes the new role of senior director, airline relations. Kmiotek is Danzas North America's direct liaison with its airline partners.
Richard Ingraffia, formerly vice president, eastern region, has been named vice president, terminal handling, a newly created post. Ingraffia is responsible for all of Danzas North America's terminal-handling operations, and is tasked with enhancing the quality and reliability of the company's vast terminal network.
Paul Osburn and Patrick Walsh have been promoted to the positions of vice president, eastern region, and regional manager, central region, respectively.

"As we look to 2002, our internal objectives are to streamline our organizational structure, accelerate our decision-making processes, and strengthen our relationships with our customers and partners," said Brian Lindholm, executive vice president and Chief Operating Officer. "We also plan to expand our presence among smaller to mid-size businesses and to build a leadership role in `fourth-party logistics," where we leverage our resources to support our customers' in-house logistics operations. The executive changes outlined above are pivotal to executing this broad-based strategy.

"For example," Lindholm continued. "Gary Schultheis brings a wealth of experience to his new position, and is equally comfortable working with our sales and operating teams. Gary's appointment frees up Bob Kmiotek to focus all his energies on airline relations, a task that has taken on paramount importance since the tragic events of September 11. And one of our most seasoned hands, Rich Ingraffia, will devote his full-time efforts to ensure the smooth functioning of our terminal-handling functions, a critical link in our supply chain.

"I would like to take the opportunity to thank Wayne Tompkins for his contribution to Danzas North America," Lindholm said. "Wayne played an important role in building our organization and he will be missed."
