Danzas Achieves Accreditation for First Phase of Cargo 2000

Basel, Switzerland (October 23, 2001) -- Danzas, the leading global provider of logistics solutions, has been accredited under the first phase of Cargo 2000. Cargo 2000 is a quality initiative of IATA designed to strengthen systems and processes in the air cargo industry.

The first phase of Cargo 2000 focuses on the airport-to-airport transit of goods moving between airlines and logistics provider. All consignments are required to meet a series of quality checkpoints to ensure quality and consistency of service. Shipments are monitored and benchmarked at each checkpoint, and employees are automatically alerted to any unexpected changes in shipment routing so they can take corrective action.

Danzas achieved "phase one" accreditation at 10 sites so far: Atlanta, Brussels, Chicago, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Toronto.

The Cargo 2000 strategy calls for all members to apply the group's quality standards across their global systems and to submit to a biannual audit to ensure on-going compliance. Eventually, Cargo 2000 processes will be extended to cover door-to-door deliveries at piece level.
