Roche names Danzas exclusive logistics provider in Latin America [Spanish version]

Basel, Switzerland (August 27, 2001) -- Roche, one of the world's leading health care providers, has named Danzas as the exclusive logistics provider of Roche's Latin American transportation requirements, the two companies announced today.

Under the agreement, Danzas AEI Intercontinental, a Business Unit of the Danzas Group, will manage all air and ocean freight traffic linking Roche's production plants in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, with its customers throughout Latin America. Roche has facilities in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Toluca and Cuernavaca, Mexico.

The agreement expands the relationship between the two companies in Latin America. Until now, Danzas had managed approximately one-half of Roche's intra-Latin transportation needs.

The agreement also strengthens the global relationship between Roche and the Danzas Group. Danzas already handles the worldwide distribution for Roche Pharma Switzerland.

Since the beginning of 2001, Danzas has strengthened its positions in Mexico, Chile and Colombia either through acquisitions or joint ventures. Earlier this month, Danzas entered into a joint venture with Doal S.A. de C.V., one of Mexico's leading logistics companies.
