Danzas AEI Intercontinental announces appointments to key North American posts
Robert Kmiotek named Vice President, Product Manger, Air Freight; Philipp Rathgeb tapped for Vice President, Ocean Services
DARIEN, CT USA (December 4, 2000) -- Danzas AEI Intercontinental today announced key appointments to its North American region, naming Robert C. Kmiotek vice president and product manager, airfreight, and Philipp C. Rathgeb vice president, ocean services. Both appointments are effective immediately.
Kmiotek, a 23-year veteran of the logistics and airfreight industries, manages Danzas AEI Intercontinental's North American airfreight products and services. He also serves as liaison with its many airline partners. He divides his time between JFK Airport in New York City and Darien, CT.
Rathgeb, who next year will celebrate 20 years in the logistics field, heads Danzas AEI Intercontinental's North American ocean freight operations, and is responsible for all phases of the business. He is based in Cranford, NJ.
Both report to Brian E. Lindholm, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Danzas AEI Intercontinental's North American region.
Kmiotek began his career in 1977 with Alitalia Airlines. He joined the former Air Express International (AEI) in January 1992 as gateway manager at JFK. After spending two years working directly with a key corporate customer, Kmiotek in 1998 was named director, inbound services for AEI North America and was responsible for facilitating the flow of airfreighted goods entering the United States and Canada.
In June 1999, Kmiotek was named director airfreight, metro New York and Northeast region. He held that position until his most recent appointment.
Rathgeb started his logistics career in 1981, and has worked extensively in the United States and Europe since then. He joined AEI in 1995 after it acquired the Radix Group. At Radix, Rathgeb was manager, transportation services at its Newark, NJ office.
Rathgeb served with AEI as national operations manager, ocean, and most recently was director-pricing, ocean for Danzas AEI Intercontinental.
