Danzas AEI hails implementation of RosettaNet e-business process standards
DARIEN, CT USA (October 11, 2000) -- Danzas AEI Intercontinental today hailed the implementation of RosettaNet, a worldwide initiative to standardize Internet-enabled business processes and facilitate the exchange of information across the global supply chain.
RosettaNet is a consortium of major technology (IT), electronic components (EC) and semiconductor manufacturing companies working to create and implement industry-wide-e-business process standards.
RosettaNet's many Partner Interface Processes™ (PIPs™) are designed to work together to offer companies powerful turnkey solutions for common e-business challenges. Using a suite of PIPs, companies can manage pricing, catalog and purchase order tracking requirements, among others. The implementation of RosettaNet standards is expected to drive efficiencies and reduce cycle times between supply chain partners on a global basis.
As a RosettaNet Supply Chain Partner, Danzas AEI has used its expertise as a leading logistics provider to create new business processes and identify existing processes that should be integrated into the supply chain. Danzas AEI is also promoting and implementing the agreed-upon processes through its internal network and with its supply-chain partners.
"E-business has made it easier and more cost effective for our customers to do business with Danzas AEI, and we see even greater opportunity to enhance these capabilities through the RosettaNet standards," said Robert J. Sartor, manager, logistics systems development, Danzas AEI.
"Our participation in RosettaNet demonstrates to our current and prospective customers that Danzas AEI is committed to a Web-centric, non-proprietary e-business strategy and that we will support solutions that extend beyond traditional Electronic Data Interchange," said Sartor, who also serves as Danzas AEI's RosettaNet representative.
Sartor said Danzas AEI will implement RosettaNet's transportation and distribution PIPs, and also expects to adopt other key portions of the purchase order management PIPs. "We will consider implementing RosettaNet standards whenever applicable for e-commerce solutions with customers and other trading partners," he said.
"With the implementation of RosettaNet standards, companies see first-hand the improvements in operational efficiency and reductions in process times that result from open and common e-business processes. And they can pass those benefits on to their customers," said Jennifer Hamilton, CEO of RosettaNet.
RosettaNet is an independent, self-funded, non-profit consortium dedicated to the development and deployment of standard electronic business interfaces that align the processes between supply chain partners on a global basis.
The companies involved in RosettaNet generate more than over $1 trillion in annual information technology, electronic components and semiconductor manufacturing revenues. A complete list of member companies and more information on RosettaNet can be found at www.rosettanet.org.
