Expansion of customer services in European overland transport

Synergies expected from combined organization in Germany: Danzas NTO and Deutsche Post Transport join forces as the new Danzas Transport.

The two German-based companies, Deutsche Post Transport GmbH, Bonn, and Danzas NTO GmbH, Hanover, will now operate as Danzas Transport. The goal of the new organization is to deliver an even broader range of high-volume transport services to customers.

BASEL (Switzerland) (March 27, 2000) -- Deutsche Post Transport GmbH (DPT), Bonn, and Danzas NTO GmbH, Hanover, are now operating as Danzas Transport. The merging of the two companies is good news for customers because it puts a comprehensive range of services at their disposal from a single source. The planned expansion of the product range will be an additional benefit, particularly for companies thinking internationally. The new unit generates annual sales of around DEM 680 million with some 570 employees and offers more than 3,000 line haulings a day. This makes Danzas Transport number one in its segment of the German market.

Both of the constituent organizations have a successful growth record behind them. DPT has been concentrating mainly on building up a high-performance network between the Deutsche Post freight mail centers in Germany and is ex-panding its international gateway services. Danzas NTO has established and marketed itself as a specialist in high-volume transport systems with a strong customer and service orientation and unbeatable reliability and flexibility for cli-ents such as Otto Versand. Danzas Transport plans to strengthen its network further while continuing to build up services between international gateways. The management of Danzas Transport will be headed by Hanjo Schneider, previously in charge of Danzas NTO. Schneider reports directly to Remo Brunschwiler, who is responsible for the Eurocargo Business Unit at Danzas Head Office in Basel.
