Danzas focuses activities for global logistics solutions
Danzas is refocusing its activities in the field of customer solutions with
the objective of enhancing the service offerings to customers through a
single point of entry. As a consequence the present activities will be
combined in a single business unit called Danzas Solutions
BASEL (Switzerland) (March 21, 2000) -- The worldwide Danzas group is
refocusing its global activities in the field of customized, industry-specific
logistics solutions. The three current business units of Consumer Solutions,
Industry Solutions and Specialties are being combined to form a single
Solutions Business Unit as of May 1, 2000.
The objective of this refocusing is to enhance the service offerings for
customers through a single point of entry, now that Danzas has integrated
Nedlloyd ETD, ASG and Deutsche Post Contract Logistics into its operations.
The move also recognizes the outsourcing trends in the industry and the
increasing demand in the marketplace for integrated logistics solutions.
The new Solutions Business Unit will continue to focus on the market sectors of
Automotive, Electronics, Fashion, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Pharma and
Telecom. The Solutions Business Unit will have about 10,800 employees and
generate annual sales of about Euro 1.2 billion.
The Solutions Business Unit already enjoys a leading market position in
Electronics, Fashion and Fast Moving Consumer Goods and strongly
developing positions in Automotive, Pharma and Telecom. The logistics
services are provided on a global basis, with market leadership in Europe and
strongly expanding positions in both the Americas and Asia/Pacific.
