New Danzas AEI Intercontinental Rapidly Taking Shape Full steam ahead into the new millennium
The announcement in November 1999 of Deutsche Post signing a
merger agreement with Air Express International and the integration of
all AEI activities into the Danzas Intercontinental Business Unit made
big waves within the worldwide logistics industry. Now the new Danzas
AEI Intercontinental Business Unit is ready to communicate the new
worldwide structure.
BASEL (Switzerland) (07 March 2000) -- With the announcements of the
appointments for the important functions on group, regional, subregional and
country/county group levels Danzas AEI Intercontinental Business Unit has
concluded one of the major and most important steps of the integration design
phase. Now the second step of integration planning, followed by the field
integration, will be taken up at full speed.
The new organization took effect on March 06, 2000. This means that all
responsibilities from the group level to the country level are assigned to the
responsible persons.
The integration process is designed to achieve a seamless and orderly
transition. The executive teams leading the integration process are committed to
ensuring that customers receive the highest level of service during the transition
period.
Danzas AEI Intercontinental brings together excellent products and services
with very strong IT support. The global freight forwarding and logistics
organization is moving into the new millennium with the goal of becoming the
world's preeminent logistics provider. Danzas AEI offers shippers an
unmatched range of global freight forwarding and logistics services from a single
source, i.e., the ultimate one-stop shopping.
Business Unit Organization
The management team at the group level, headed by the existing Business Unit
Head, Renato Chiavi, is comprised of managers of: five regions, products,
marketing and sales and for the functional services of controlling, business
processes and organization, and human resources. The names of the key
executives are shown below. The new organization took effect on March 06,
2000.
New legal names for AEI companies
Because the entire integration process will take between 12 and 18 months, it
has been decided to rename all AEI companies to Danzas AEI with immediate
effect. The intention is to highlight the change of ownership and, even more
important, to maintain the combination of two very strong brands in the market.
For the above reason the company Air Express International Corp., Darien, the
holding company of all AEI subsidiaries, has already changed its name to
Danzas AEI Corp. The new chairman of its board is Peter Wagner, CEO of
the Danzas Group. Guenter Rohrmann, former CEO of AEI is Vice Chairman.
Renato Chiavi, Head of Intercontinental Business Unit is CEO.
Function of Guenter Rohrmann
Guenter Rohrmann, former CEO of AEI, has successfully led and built AEI. As
Vice Chairman of Danzas AEI Corp., he will be responsible for a number of
existing and future top accounts. He also will be involved at the forefront of
integrating the Joint Venture and Agent businesses. Besides this, he heads the
regional integration steering committee of the Americas and is one of the three
members of the Executive Office responsible for the overall integration.
