Danzas AEI honored for excellence by Singapore trade officials back
Danzas AEI Singapore one of only five international firms to be recognized

Singapore (September 14, 2000) -- Danzas AEI Singapore was chosen by Singapore officials as one of five international companies to receive the "International Trade Award" in recognition of Danzas AEI's outstanding contributions to furthering Singapore's international trade.

The award, presented September 6 at ceremonies in Singapore, honors those companies who have built reputations as excellent global traders and who have demonstrated an ability to adapt to the demands of the new economy. This year, contestants were judged on their innovative use of information technology to help develop international markets.

"Success in the global marketplace will go to companies that are capable of nurturing and exploiting the power of ideas," said Barry Desker, chairman of Singapore's Trade Development Board, which administers the awards. "The award winners represent the role models that we need to drive Singapore's economy in the digital era and the global marketplace."

Launched in 1996, the awards are presented every two years. To be eligible, companies must be financially stable, generate a substantial volume of international trade and be operating in Singapore for no less than three years.

In all, five local and five foreign companies were honored as award recipients. Besides Danzas AEI, BAX Global, DHL International, Cargill International Trading and Motorola Electronics were award-winners in the "Foreign Company" category.

Noting that transportation logistics companies accounted for three of the five "foreign company" award-winners, Lee said, "This not only reflects Singapore's vitality as a global logistics hub, but it recognizes our industry's ability to leverage the skills of our people, technology and infrastructure to build and execute successful business models."
