Danzas AEI voted Brazil's top freight forwarder back

Sao Paulo (Brazil) (May 2, 2000) -- Danzas AEI announced today that its Brazilian operations in 1999, AEI do Brazil Ltda., was voted the country's best freight forwarder of 1999 in an annual survey conducted by Global Magazine, Brazil's leading logistics publication.

AEI do Brazil also won a second-place award in the "Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC)" category, and a third-place award in the "Customs Broker" category. PricewaterhouseCoopers, the global accounting and consulting firm, audited all results.

The prestigious forwarder award is presented to the provider that demonstrates superior quality, punctuality and customer service. The voters consist of readers of Global Magazine, shippers and consignees, carriers and related market segments. This is the first time in the contest's six-year history that Danzas AEI has won the forwarder award.

"Brazil is a large country and there are many talented forwarders operating here. It is an honor to be chosen among such strong competition," said Nadia Ribeiro, country manager, Danzas AEI do Brazil.

Ribeiro added, "I am especially pleased that importers, exporters and carriers, many of whom we work with every day, thought so highly of our service to select us for this important award. It validates our strategy and our execution, and it is a tribute to the world class people we have here."

AEI, which is in the process of merging with the Intercontinental Business Unit of the Danzas Group following its acquisition earlier this year by Deutsche Post, has served Brazil continuously since 1972.
